HELPFUL INFORMATION

How do I know which Aspect Ratio to choose?

The term Aspect Ratio describes the shape of the screen.  It’s a ratio of the width of the screen to the height of the screen.  It is generally recommended that you choose a screen that matches the native aspect ratio of your projector.
Its also good if the material you are going to be watching is also in that same format.

Here’s some information on the many different Aspect Ratios:

1:1 This is perfectly square and was most commonly used with Overhead Projectors

4:3 Think of your old CRT projector and all video tapes were also made in this format.

16:10 This is an emerging format – known as Windows Format it came from the shape of laptop screens which were 16:9 with an extra unit of height to accommodate the START bar.

16:9 Known as widescreen this is popular for home theatre and is the shape of most flat panels.

How does a Multiformat Screen work

A Multiformat screen is a tricky little 2C product.  It’s a roller screen that is 1:1 in size, but can then be changed to different aspect ratios and sizes (constant width) by reducing the amount of screen fabric pulled down. Please note the top of the image stays fixed.
